Storm over Tay (ll), oil on canvas, 16 x 24in
I have always been inspired by the sky. This painting was done from a series of sketches and photographs from the river Tay in Scotland. I went there to visit a friend of mine Ken Bushe for a week of painting. We spent a day on the river in a little boat and I was able to gather lots of source material.
I found it very interesting while I was there to notice that the sky was completely different to what we have here around Reykjavík. The colors and atmosphere were very different. I never thought of this before but after having visit there I started to notice that the sky is also very different in the different parts of Iceland.
