Continuing my exploration of Reykjavík and its many different houses. This one is located in a neighborhood that I just recently moved away from. It is located about 10 minutes walk from the center and is a lovely area called Hlíðar.

I wanted to see if I could take this rather flat and uninteresting scene and create something interesting to look at. I was really focusing on color variation in that flat wall and really trying to make some interesting edges. The real edges are all quite straight and uninteresting, so the challenge I set my self was to apply the paint in as many ways as I could think of to juice them up a bit. I used the palette knife quite a bit to create textures as well as using a bristle brush for some dry brushing. And I used  mongoose hair brushes for the real drawing part. I went back and forth with all of this, establishing and reestablishing edges and values.
