Dundy Beacon oil painting on linen by Þorgrímur Andri Einarsson

I spent two days with my painter friend Ken Bushe on the river Tay in Dundee in Scotland. I made numerous sketches and took many photographs during those two days. This is a studio painting made from that material. I was absolutely captivated by this beacon sitting in the middle of the river. There was something mysterious and a little spooky about it and I wanted to try and capture that feeling of age and weathering down.

Also the whole beacon was very interesting to my eyes in regards to drawing and color. Probably cause I am not used to beacons like this one here in Iceland.
